What do you do when your dream is dead?

Sometimes it can feel like our dreams are dead.
That is in a box, six feet under. Not on life support, not in a critical state, just dead and buried. Gone. We have wept and cried inside about the passing of that dream.

Life can become chaotic when are dreams implode. It can be unclear what is going on, our senses struggle to make sense of what has happened and what this might mean. It is all CHAOS. One option is to lose a part of you leaving behind a husk of a person. Now STOP! Erase that thought. That should not be an option.

This is exactly the moment when you need to keep faith.

During the chaos do not be dominated by emotional thoughts. Do not put that final nail in the coffin by wailing, nashing teeth, crying or by anger. There is still a glowing ember on the wick of possibility. Stay in control.

Many dreams are born from chaos. Order isn't always helpful. Chaos is creative. Sometimes we need to look at things from a new perspective, change something, involve someone else. Not the normal crowd, someone new. Step out of that safe world you have created, there are a whole lot more resources out there. When the inspiration comes, everything feels like it has stopped. That moment, that thought, is the dream returning.

The dream may be back. The old path to get there is probably gone, eroded away. The approach needed will probably be completely different to the one you first thought. You could be taken along a different path with its own risks and stresses. Be brave, be open to forging a new way. The journey will develop and enrich you in just the way you need, to do what you need to do. Is the discomfort of stepping out into the unknown worth it. Remember, the reward at the end is your DREAM.

Have faith.

Thanks Rich Martin for the inspiration.
