NLP Master Prac. Day 1

The day started nervously. I was apprehensive. Should I know more then I do? Have I studied hard enough? This course was so far down the line, only the really committed would be there, would I measure up?
The day started, rapport built quickly across the students. We were all in the same boat. We all had self doubts and questions.  That is great because this cause will blow them all away.

In five minutes, I had already moved beyond the issues I felt in describing my goals. In my head, I had thought my goal was about getting my ideal job. This left me scared to describe that goal. I felt unprepared. Maybe I would lock myself into inappropriate action? Chunk up! Why did I want the new job? What will it bring me? What is the highest possible intention?

Personal control, flexibility and  challenge to make a difference and money! For a Harley, paying the mortgage off and family holidays. Bosh. these are the goals; control, flexible and challenging work and money to buy stuff. Goals done.

The day hit upon my favourite topic, language. I am still on the first learning step and  a mere paduan (see Star Wars) but by the end of the day we were creating amazing language responses.

I often hear, "doing this means I am wasting my time" maybe a response could be: "how much fun do others have when they use their time effectively?" Chew your brain over that.

Or, at home my little girl is soooooooo sllllooooooooww eating. My new response will be "whilst you are sitting here by the table noticing how amazing and yummy your food looks and how that hungry feeling in your belly is, you can use your cutlery, chew faster and eat more quickly now, and that would be a good thing for you wouldn't it?"

Or at work, when I want a coffee: "Knowing that you are a great friend, wouldn't is be great if you, take a break, walk to the shops and get me a cappuccino, now and you could also get yourself a treat too, couldn't you?"

Words can break apart our limiting beliefs and constraints, the power of the word is mightier than the sword!
