Before I began working again after the Christmas break, I had dreamt up strategies to get my organisation to think in a solution focussed way keeping me at the centre of these changes.
My ideas were all about changing organisation behaviours, beliefs and values through action, rather than fluffy 'navel' gazing.
Day 3 and my ideas were squished as a Director, although interested in my proposal, let me know the powers that be had their own plan to drive change by action. Rats! Stay positive. Remain flexible. The important outcome is to be supporting people and teams make positive changes.
Remembering this, I positioned myself into the Executive Directors' plans.
The Director I was meeting with seems to have taken the bait and stated he is keen to involve me in his action plans. First sortie is to use LEAN methodology to improve a key process. This has me written all over it; challenging beliefs, removing constraining thoughts installing and supporting creative thinking.
Have I done enough to be involved? Lets hope minds don't change.....
