Top leadership tips #1


Welcome to my first post in a series to give you insights into being a leader. I believe we are all leaders within some aspect of our lives, even if we limit our application of our leadership to simply getting ourselves out of bed!
This series will give you some practical things you can do to improve your leadership capability.
Definition
Self Reliance is one of the key characteristics of a leader.
Self reliance means accepting the responsibility of leadership. They are self directed people who take the initiative and act autonomously. They trust their ability to make decisions and have confidence in their actions. They put themselves on the line to succeed accept responsibility to deliver and to are accountable to their customers.

Top tips
  • Who has been a key leadership in your life? What are their characteristics that made an impact on you?
  • How do these characteristics shape your leadership behaviour?
  • Think of a challenge facing you as a leader. How would this person handle the situation?
  • Who's perspective do you really trust who could give you feedback on your leadership performance?
  • Consider how changing your mood could result in a better outcome
